AAE first began venturing into the Oil and Water Separation (OWS) field by manufacturing a Parallel Plate type OWS OPB-10NP which uses coalescence and gravity to remove oil from water flowing through the plate pack. This is effective in separating bulk oil from water. AAE manufactured 26 of these plate type OWS systems for the DDG51 class ships and they were designed to flow 10 GPM. The OWS system was manufactured out of a variety of materials including Carbon Steel as well as Brass, Bronze and Stainless Steel. The OWS requires 440VAC and are fully automatic units.
