Aircraft Appliances has built Oily Water Separator (second Stage) Polishers in various sizes and for a variety of ship platforms. AAE originally built a 5GPM Polisher for the DDG 51 program to further refine the separation process after the 1st stage Plate Type separator. AAE’s Oily Water Separator Polisher’s ultra filtration technology uses ceramic membranes to consistently bring the overboard discharge levels below 5 ppm to meet MOE requirements of less than 15 ppm. AAE has built 24 units for the Navy. In addition to the 5 GPM Polisher AAE also manufactures a 10 GPM Polisher and a 50 GPM unit for use on Aircraft Carriers, Helicopter Carriers and other large Navy Vessels. AAE is currently building and qualifying a combined Centrifugal Purifier and Ceramic Membrane unit that will replace the Plate Type first stage separation and the secondary Ceramic Membrane Polisher stage unit with one fully self contained/compact unit meeting IMO MEPC.107(49).
