Aircraft Appliances has manufactured JP-5 and Diesel Fuel Filter Separators for many ship programs in both Simplex and Duplex designs (main propulsion and helicopter refueling). Duplex designs offer less down time, a significant reduction in ship valves and plumbing and reduced manning as the units will automatically change over to the tank with clean elements once the unit has sensed plugged elements. We have built many different sizes from 47 to 2000 GPM and many different design pressures. We have designed our units to meet the requirements of MIL-F-15618 as well as the newer requirements of ASME and ABS. Our designs can have simple Delta Pressure switches for signaling fouled elements remotely (profibus) in the ECS or they can have electronic controls for remote monitoring (profibus) of the equipment in the ships ECS. Our units are made out of Stainless Steel 304 or 316 and use filter elements that are readily available from AAE or other sources of supply within the US Navy stock system.
